Colorado skiing is off to a fast start thanks to an historically cold October.
Eldora grabbed that cold (and snow) and ran with it achieving a Nov 1st opening day. This episode is live from the base lodge, bar and liftline on opening day. Staff, guests, unicorns, etc.

Battle of the backcountry?
David Ollila had been manufacturing and selling Marquette Backcountry skis since 2010. In 2019 he got served by lawyers from Backcountry.com. And it sounds like he's not the only one. Where this goes nobody knows.

The VT to CO podcast transition continues.
It's hard, but not as hard as forecasting snow. Episode 72 is a lightly edited version of Joel Gratz, founder of OpenSnow, doing a winter forecasting pep talk to the hometown crowd at Neptune Mountaineering in Boulder on Oct 24. He's doing more of these throughout the fall so get to one if you can.
